09/10/02- ClusterQue version 3.31_65:
ClusterQue v. 3.31_65 for Windows
servers includes an updated POSIX subsystem (Interix) from
Microsoft. You may opt to upgrade ClusterQue without
upgrading the POSIX subsystem. LBM Systems and
Microsoft currently support both versions of Interix.
There are some performance improvements with the new
version of Interix, but if you are satisfied with
ClusterQue's performance you are not required to upgrade
at this time.
To update ClusterQue and the
POSIX subsystem (Interix):
1. Obtain the necessary
files from LBM Systems or your authorized ClusterQue
reseller.
Email LBM for access to these files.
2. Back up your printdef and
ulpdef files found in C:\Interix\usr\spool\uprint.
3. Note: you will need
to reboot the server to complete this upgrade.
Stop the UniquePrintServer service (note that clients
will not be able to submit jobs to ClusterQue while the
service is stopped). Next stop the Print Spooler
service.
4. Insert the CD into your
machine and follow the installation instructions.
If you have downloaded, run setup.exe and follow the
installation instructions.
5. Interix will install
first, do not reboot after installing Interix.
After ClusterQue installs, select the option to reboot.
6. The service will restart
automatically after rebooting and your printer/cluster
definitions will remain intact.
To update ClusterQue only:
1. Obtain the necessary
files from LBM Systems or your authorized ClusterQue
reseller.
Email LBM for access to these files.
2. Back up your printdef and
ulpdef files found in
C:\Interix\usr\spool\uprint.
3. Follow instructions on
the ClusterQueUpdate.PDF file to run the update.
Note that during the update process you will need to
stop the UniquePrintServer service; users will not be
able to submit jobs to ClusterQue while the service is
stopped.
4. Run the install program
as described on the ClusterQueUpdate.PDF file.
5. Once you have finished
updating, restart the UniQuePrintServer service.
