
Installation Procedure
To install ClusterQue users require:
- To be the Administrator user with all rights and permissions
- The NT/2000 Native Posix subsystem must be enabled (Refer to troubleshooting Posix disabled)
- Have the Internet Explore Java Viewer Machine or the Netscape Java Viewer plug-in.
Installing the Software
ClusterQue requires two installation steps:
- Interix (Windows services for Unix)
- ClusterQue
Interix Installation
- You need to install Interix Subsystem/Tools and Utilities only
- Use the default directory “Interix”.You can install it on a different hard disk drive.
- After installation you need to Reboot the server.
ClusterQue Installation
- For the second installation, just run the Setup program
- Warning message on ClusterQue Installation
This message will be related to the Web Server installed on your server.
If you don’t have it installed you will get a message regarding a future
installation and the creation of a virtual directory.
This message will not prevent the program from running.
Users can use the java version of ClusterQue Print Queue Manager.
Checking Installation Status
After installing ClusterQue, verify that the service has been installed. The first time ClusterQue is installed
the service will not start automatically. You need to start it manually.
To confirm installation:
- Go to Services in your Windows Control Panel Menu (Administrative Tools for Windows 2000)
- Check the service UniQuePrintServer and it has to be configured to:
- Automatic start up
- Login as a System Account
Service not installed
If the service is not installed, run the following command to install it:
- Open Interix Ksh Prompt WindowStart-Programs-Interix-Interix Ksh)
- Run the command at the prompt:
//C/Interix/bin/ service install -n UniQuePrintServer -s auto //C/Interix/usr/spool/uprint/umaster
NOTE:The driver’s letter must be the one where you installed the software.
